Niagara Nepali Samaj Showcases Nepali Culture at Folk Arts Festival

Niagara Nepali Samaj (NNS) proudly showcased Nepal’s rich art, culture, and identity at the Folk Arts Festival organized under Bridges Niagara’s Community Connections program dated May 06, 2026. The multicultural event brought together participants from various communities across the Niagara Region. Representing the Nepali community, approximately 50 members of the Niagara Nepali Samaj took part in the celebration. Participants ranging from children to senior members proudly displayed Nepal’s cultural diversity through traditional attire, including Daura Suruwal, Gunyu Cholo, Dhaka Topi, and various ethnic and regional dresses representing different communities of Nepal.

One of the major highlights of the event was the cultural parade led by the Niagara Nepali Samaj carrying the community’s banner alongside the national flag of Nepal. During the parade, Nepal’s national anthem, “Sayaun Thunga Phoolka Hami, Eutai Mala Nepali,” was played, creating a vibrant Nepali atmosphere throughout the venue and drawing the attention of attendees from different communities.

Adding further cultural significance to the program, Nepali children performed traditional dances to Nepali songs, which were warmly appreciated by the audience. Spectators from diverse cultural backgrounds enthusiastically applauded and welcomed the Nepali community’s presentation. Organizers also praised the participation of the Nepali community as impressive, respectful, disciplined, and culturally impactful.

The Niagara Nepali Samaj expressed pride in having the opportunity to successfully represent Nepal and the Nepali community on an intercultural platform in Canada. NNS extended sincere gratitude to all participating members, volunteers, and the organizing team for their valuable support and contributions.

NNS further emphasized that such programs provide important opportunities not only to promote Nepali cultural identity but also to strengthen relationships and understanding among different communities. NNS reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the promotion of Nepali culture and community unity through similar and even more impactful initiatives in the future.
